West Ham have made a £40million bid for Chelsea and England midfielder Conor Gallagher.
Gallagher has two years left on his contract and Chelsea are believed to be open to extending it.
Any potential departures would likely be led by Gallagher himself.
The England midfielder is on Chelsea’s tour of the US and scored in the win over Brighton on Sunday. Apparently, coach Mauricio Pochettino is planning for him to be part of the team next season.
Sky Sports News understands Chelsea value him at more than £40m.
Gallagher is one of the midfielders West Ham are looking at following Declan Rice’s £105m move to Arsenal.
The Czechs had a £45m bid rejected by Fulham for Joao Palhinha, and remain keen on Southampton captain James Ward-Prowse, Juventus’ Denis Zakaria and Ajax’s Edson Alvarez.
West Ham among clubs monitoring Maguire’s situation
Harry Maguire is being closely monitored by clubs in the Premier League and beyond, with West Ham among those interested in the England international.
The Hammers are thought to be exploring the option of a loan or a permanent deal for the 30-year-old defender, who was recently told he would no longer captain Man Utd and could look to move elsewhere.
However, they are aware that wages could prove to be an issue if an agreement is to be reached between the clubs.
United boss Erik ten Hag has always maintained that any decision will effectively rest with the player, who is contracted to the club until the summer of 2025.
