Learn how to get the popular cat pet in World of Warcraft Dragonflight. Note, this is only active during the World of Warcraft Hallow’s End event.
Tis the season for all things spooky World of Warcraft, which means it’s time to get into the Hallow’s End spirit. In this guide, we will look at how to enter the Family pet World of Warcraft, which you can grab for a limited time during the Hallow’s End event. Unlike the Headless Horseman’s Mountain, the Cat’s Familiar is not a point. Instead, you’ll need to collect 150 tricky gifts to add this kitty companion to your collection.
How to get the famous cat pet
To get the Feline Familiar, you’ll need to go to your faction’s Hallow’s End event center. These can be found outside of Stormwind and Undercity, for Alliance and Horde respectively. These vendors are located in slightly strange places if you are not used to the event or going outside the walls of your city.
For Horde players, you’ll probably need to talk to the clock shifter NPC named Zidormi (she’ll appear on your map) outside the Undercity and return to the pre-BFA The suburbs. That way the city won’t be as full of deadly green gas as it is now, and you’ll see the Hallow’s End event. You’ll find the kids just inside the city walls (pictured below) to buy the cat, along with a number of other fun Hallow’s End items to buy using Tricky Treats.
For Stormwind, you just need to go outside the main gate on your way to Goldshire. You’ll see them on your right, in front of the giant burning knitting man. Both factions sell the same items, with some notable faction-specific masks only available to the opposite faction, so you can wear a mask to scare the little guys. These kids are also located in the main quest hub for Hallow’s End, meaning you’ll already be in a good place to start your Tricky Treats collecting journey.
How to get complex treatments
Feline Familiar is not as difficult as some rare event items. However, it will take some effort to collect the tokens. Taking complex treatments can be done in several ways. One of the easiest is to simply do the daily queue in the headless knight dungeon for a pumpkin filled with loot, which will always contain some.
Alternatively, you can do a number of searches. In total there are 10 quests per faction, 6 of which are Daily Quests. These quests will grant you between 1 and 4 Tricky Treats each, with “Last Hallow Treats for Jesper! (Spoops for Horde)” giving you 10 to start with. While you can do daily quests with multiple characters, the trick is Bind on Pickup (BOP), so your best bet would be to aim for one item per character, rather than spreading yourself too thin.
Once you have your 150 treats, simply head over to the kids shown above and purchase your new favorite companion. It’s also worth noting that the Feline Familiar is one of the cats in demand for the Crazy Cat Lady/Man title. This title is obtained through the Crazy for Cats achievement which requires you to get 20 cats from a list of 26, some of which are shop pets. This makes Feline Familiar an easy addition if you want to save money.
