Fulham have agreed a deal to sign Raul Jimenez from Wolves for £5.5m.
The 32-year-old forward will undergo a medical on Monday.
Jimenez, who has a year remaining on his Wolves contract, has spent five seasons at the club, first joining on loan in 2018 from Benfica before signing permanently the following year.
The Mexico international scored 44 goals in his first two seasons with the club before suffering a fractured skull away to Arsenal in November 2020.
He has scored just 15 goals since then and will leave the club with 57 in 166 appearances.
The arrival of Jimenez to allow the departure of Mitrovic?
Al Hilal’s interest in striker Aleksandr Mitrovic has sparked a clash between Fulham and their top scorer from last season, who reluctantly boarded their flight to the US for pre-season.
Mitrovic has told relatives he will no longer play for Fulham after the decision-makers put a £52m price tag on him.
Mitrovic, who was considering sitting out the club’s tour of America, was persuaded by agent Pini Zahavi and PFA representatives to join the squad as they left for the United States on Thursday.
However, Mitrovic is understood to be angry at the price of a move that has been the subject of two failed bids from Al Hilal.
Mitrovic’s agent has asked Tony Khan to lower his value to somewhere between £35m and £45m.
Silva rejects £40m bid for Al Ahli
Marco Silva has rejected an approach from Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli and insisted he remains “totally committed” to Fulham.
The Portuguese would be offered £40million on a two-year deal to become the club’s new manager.
Speaking in his press conference ahead of Sunday’s Premier League Summer Series match against Brentford, live on Sky Sports, Silva confirmed that he had informed his current employers of his decision, although he did not reveal that he had turned down Al Ahli.
“I have answered for my club and I will not talk about this situation”, he said. “I did not come here to talk about the offers and the situation.
“I told you before and I will say it again, I don’t need to say many words here. I have shown my commitment to this football club. My commitment to the football club is total.”
