Former Counter-Strike star and current VALORANT pro for Karmine Corp, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom, has cleared up the confusion surrounding his tweet, which some suspected was him considering a move to Counter-Strike 2.
After losing to NAVI and blowing his chance to secure a Champions 2023 spot, Karmine Corp’s Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom posted on Twitter about his thoughts on the future of his career.
I have never taken a flight so soon after a game, already home
Time to take a break and reflect on the options I have for the future of my career
I heard there is a game coming out soon.. 🙄

“Time to rest a bit and reflect on the options I have for the future of my career. I heard a game is coming out soon.” – he ended the tweet with this statement, and as a former Counter-Strike pro with a long history in the game, some speculated that the statement was his interest in switching to CS2, Counter-Strike’s massive update to the existing game.
In another tweet at a later date, the 29-year-old cleared up the confusion many people had about him leaving the VALORANT competition for a different gaming career.
I tweeted out of frustration that I didn’t qualify and some of what I said was clumsy and unnecessary, and I apologize to everyone.
I also saw that my last tweet was poorly received and I want to add a little clarification.
I have absolutely everything…

“For the reference to CS2, it was more irony than anything else, very wrong in hindsight, given the circumstances. I want to continue in Valorant and do everything to win trophies”. – explained ScreaM in a long tweet, giving a sigh of relief to all his VALORANT fans.
He also mentioned the disappointing feeling of a poor season and blamed himself as captain for such results in another post.
I see a lot of messages on Twitter waiting for this famous TL and like all of you we are waiting too. Trust me, despite the struggles and disappointments we went through as a team, I still can’t fathom giving up a position. Karmine Corp delivers this…

“Being the captain, I take full responsibility for the failure of my team. I take full responsibility for our performance, for the difficulties we went through. I am solely responsible. Don’t blame my team, or my structure, or my family.”
The 2023 season of ScreaM and Karmine Corp
This year was Karmine Corp’s first venture into the Tier 1 scene, and they immediately grabbed the attention of the French VALORANT scene by signing former Team Liquid members and siblings, Adil “ScreaM” Benrlitom and Nabil “Nivera” Benrlitom.
Even with these two talented players, the reasonably young organization had one of the weakest forms in VCT EMEA. Karmine Corp finished the regular season with a 2-7 record, sitting at the bottom of the standings. During their matches in the EMEA League, the team was mocked many times for their mistakes and lack of synergy, even giving them the title of “worst team in the region”.
Alexis “Newzera” Humbert resigned midway through the regular season, and the team had to bring in their assistant coach Ahmed “ZE1SH” El Sheikh because they didn’t have an official sixth man. ScreaM mentioned this team abandonment recently in his tweet, saying, “Believe me, despite the struggles and disappointments we went through as a team, I still can’t fathom abandoning a position.” Going further on Newzera’s resignation, ScreaM boldly mentioned, “I just hope the reason for his departure has the merit of defending.”
Shortly after Newzera’s departure from the team, ScreaM stepped down from the role of IGL, handing over the responsibility to ZE1SH.
Here is the reason for my tweet… ⁰⁰My brother and I are still going through that moment when one of our teammates leaves the team in a competition (Liquid). Today we have a lot of difficulties internally and honestly I think this is the first time in… https://t.co/Zftz5pkgYh

With the help of the coach who still plays for the team, Karmine Corp entered the LCQ with a chance to make it to the biggest VALORANT tournament this year. Moreover, they had a much better chance of achieving this goal due to EMEA having two LCQ finalist spots due to FNATIC’s victory in Tokyo Masters, while other regions have only one. For more, Vitality Team retreat from the LCQ meant there were only six teams and two championship games, making the odds even better!
Karmine Corp won their first match against BBL Esports, avoiding the one-elimination bracket. However, the next two opponents did not allow the French list to pass, ending Karmine’s VCT 2023 season without any notable achievements.

In the tweet where ScreaM clarified the rumors about his move to CS2, he also mentioned the uncertainty of Karmine Corp’s plan for the upcoming VCT season – “I don’t know yet what Karmine will want to do next season, so I’m waiting to see my options for the future.”
Many underperforming teams in the first year of the VALORANT franchise are expected to have significant roster changes, and it’s possible that KCORP will take the same route.
