When the fans learned first of film studio Lionsgate’s ambition to bring the strange world of Pandora to the big screen, the initial reception was a mixture of excitement and strange dread.
Things are going well for Border countries film, however, with an outstanding director in Eli Roth, who is best known as a horror fan and Tarantino’s favorite actor. He also directed the blockbuster The House with a Clock in its Walls.
There were also reports that The last of us and Chernobyl writer Craig Mazin — who was involved early on and wrote the script — has since tried to distance himself from the project by using a pseudonym, however, Mazin says that’s “false” and he “can’t claim any kind of authority Border countries“.
Cate Blanchett is playing fan favorite Liliththe Siren vault hunter from the first Border countries game. Blanchett previously worked with director Eli Roth on the fantasy film PG The house with a clock on its walls. As an Oscar winner who boasts a prestigious filmography that includes Notes on a scandal AND Karolher inclusion suggests that this won’t be a bargain film adaptation.
We have one the first look on Blanchett as Lilith (albeit in silhouette form) thanks to an image shared by fellow actor Jamie Lee Curtis, who will also join the film’s cast as archaeologist Dr Patricia Tannis. Along with the teaser image, Curtis described Blanchett’s character as “the legendary, psycho-explosive, safe-shooting vixen heroine with a bad attitude.”
