Twitter’s auto-reply emoji for press inquiries is no more.
In March, owner Elon Musk announced that Twitter’s press email will now automatically respond to any message with a missing emoji:

It came months after Twitter’s mass layoffs in November last year, with the communications department “almost completely” gutted.
Now, in July, the press email has a different auto-reply: “We’ll get back to you shortly.”

Musk tweeted about the change this week, saying, “We’re changing the auto-reply from 💩 to a ‘We’ll get back to you soon’ endless loop.” In response to this he said, “Or maybe a ‘Check back with us tomorrow’ loop.”

As the Insider thinks, this change in press response may be due to leadership changes in the company. Twitter’s new CEO Linda Yaccarino started last month; Her first message to employees stated that she would pursue Musk’s vision, but dressed it up in more corporate talk. It makes sense, then, that Twitter changed its auto-reply to something more pleasant — even if it’s just as pointless.
